People are calling for purpose in business.
Often, these people are dismissed as dreamers, idealists or millennials.
We believe in these people. This is a project to develop the concept of a for-purpose enterprise to carry their dreams.
A change agent needs the right vehicle.
Businesses should serve human aspirations. However, the corporate vehicles of today have evolved to focus only on maximising shareholder value. This limits corporate vehicles to people who wish to build profit-orientated businesses as opposed to purpose-centric ones. Further, the alignment towards the maximisation of shareholder value means that entrepreneurs who initially set out to build purpose-orientated businesses will find it a constant challenge to stay on course. If the only tool you have is a hammer, soon, everything will look like a nail.
We are developing a better tool.
This is a project to develop our concept of the purpose-orientated business, the For-Purpose Enterprise (“FPE”).
For change agents who want to harness the power of business to serve their purpose, we are developing the concept of the For-Purpose Enterprise, a business organisation that puts purpose at its heart.
This is a work-in-progress. This Project needs your help.
The success of the Project will require multi-disciplinary input. As such, you could be a social entrepreneur, a businessman, an academic, a social worker, a graduate or some one with expertise or resources to share, we would be delighted to have your contribution. Our learnings and outputs will always be accessible on an open source basis.
